Featured: Karin’s Florist on Society of American Florists’ Homepage!

The Society of American Florists (SAF) featured Karin’s Florist in their most recent newsletter & website! More specifically, SAF featured an educational Karin’s facebook post which included flower care and handling advice, amid the unrelenting frigid temperatures we have been experiencing.

With marketing, knowledge is power — at least according to a recent study by NewsCred, which surveyed 501 Millennials about what types of messages resonate with them. Thirty five percent answered “educational.”

Such was the tone of a post on the Karin’s Florist Facebook page on a recent balmy 7-degree day in Vienna, Va.:

While flowers frozen in ice may look like beautiful watercolor paintings, in actuality, these record-low temperatures we have been experiencing are very harmful to flowers!

The faster the temperature drops, the lower the temperature, and the longer the temperature stays low, the greater the damage to plants. For example, a short 15 minutes at 15 degrees may cause less plant damage than an hour at 20 degrees.

Karin’s Florist makes sure your flowers will be delivered in these extreme temperatures, but even if you beg us, we will not leave an arrangement behind the door in instances of low temps, which may harm your precious flowers.

Stay warm,

Karin’s Florist
