Come witness the property of Karin’s Florist in Vienna, VA transform into a scene from a Disney fairytale: where families can walk the red carpet with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Then marvel as Cinderella & Prince Charming ride off to join the 70th annual Vienna Halloween Parade in a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage covered in fresh flowers. A special guest will also be joining the royal couple. A lucky little girl will be chosen via social media contest to ride in the Cinderella carriage and live the life of a princess for one night.
A reception full of dreams and magic begins at 3:30pm where the first 60 guests will prepare to meet and take photographs with Cinderella, Prince Charming and the flower-adorned carriage (provided by Shenandoah Carriage Company) to create precious memories that will be etched into the hearts of everyone.
Each one of the 60 guests will receive a special gift from the royal couple and all guests will receive rose petals to toss as the royal couple and little princess are taken by two snow-white horses into the parade. By the way, the Vienna Halloween Parade is celebrating its 70th anniversary this same night.
Schedule of Events:
– Cinderella, Prince Charming and their magical carriage will be available for the morning news.
– The venue for the pre-party is Karin’s Florist, located at 527 Maple Avenue Ease in Vienna Virginia and will last from 3:30 to 4:00. During that time, 60 tickets will be available on a first come first served basis until all the tickets are given out.
– From 4:00 to 5:00 there will be an introduction of the royal couple and the special winner. Guests with tickets will have the opportunity to take photos and talk with Cinderella and Prince Charming.
– At 5:00 all guests will receive rose petals to toss as they watch Cinderella and Prince Charming ride away on their royal carriage to participate in the Vienna Parade.
– The Vienna Parade starts at 7:00 and ends at 9:00.

What if your wedding or event could do more than just create lasting memories for you…but could also help local sick children, families dealing with disabilities, develop and expand literacy programs or even preserve our region’s enrichment and education of the arts?
Now all Karin’s wedding and events clients can donate a portion of their product bill to one of four great organizations that are helping make a difference right here in DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland.
The organizations include:
Inova is a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Northern Virginia that serves more than two million people each year from throughout the Washington, DC, metro area and beyond. Inova encompasses the full array of health services, including the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. It is also home to nationally and internationally recognized Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, Inova Schar Cancer Institute, Inova Translational Medicine Institute – focused on genomics research, Inova Neuroscience Institute and Inova Children’s Hospital.
Jill’s House is a full-service, overnight respite center that provides families of children with special needs with important time to rest, and gives their children a safe, fun environment, tailored to their unique abilities. This 42,000-square foot, 45-bed resort for children (ages 6-17) is located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, and is open to families of all faiths and backgrounds. Since 2010, Jill’s House has provided over 600,000 hours of hope and renewal to over 600 families.

Iconic Brazilian artist, Romero Britto, was appointed Global Ambassador to the Rio 2016 Olympics. Internationally renowned for his vibrant colors and pop style, Britto is also one of the company’s nominees to bear the Rio 2016 Olympic Torch. He will be in charge of producing a series of works with the Rio 2016 Olympic Games theme. The partnership will also include the launch of a limited edition Coca-Cola bottle, made of aluminum, which will be sold in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the Olympic Torch Relay.

Disney Pin Trading
Karin’s Florist is also thrilled to be a Disney Pin Trading location! Come in to our shop to collect and trade Disney pins to celebrate our new Magic of Mickey floral collection.
Disney pin trading is the trading of collectible pins featuring Disney characters, attractions, icons and events. The practice is a hobby practiced all over the world and promoted by Disney. Disney offers collectible Disney pins in each of its parks and resorts. Thousands of unique pins have been created over the years. The pins can cost anywhere from $8 to more than $100, depending on its design and rarity. Some pins have appreciated well on the secondary market and have reached prices of over $2000 at venues such as eBay.

Karin’s Florist is Wolf Trap’s preferred florist. We’ve designed hundreds of wedding and events at Wolf Trap over the years, including the annual Wolf Trap Ball. No other florist is more familiar with how to transform their spaces into a party your guests will never forget.
The Barns at Wolf Trap
Wolf Trap’s premier indoor venue is known as The Barns. It’s actually made up of two adjacent 18th century barns – one German, one English style. They were relocated from upstate NY to Virginia in 1981 by Wolf Trap Founder Catherine Filene Shouse. The churches have a rich history while also boasting state-of-the-art facilities.
The Barns has abundant natural light and flexible floor plans. It’s 3,800 square feet of historic interior space, with a 914 square foot courtyard and around a 400 person capacity.
The Terrace, Associates Deck and Meadow Pavillion
Why not take advantage of those calming, natural views of the surrounding meadow and world-renown Filene Center? Hold your social gathering or corporate event before a performance at the Filene Center and really wow your guests with all Wolf Trap has to offer.
The Associates Deck and The Terrace are both wooden, tented deck spaces overlooking the lower meadow and Filene Center stage. The Associates Deck is slightly larger with 4,800 square feet and a 250 banquet capacity. The Terrace can hold around 100 people at 3,890 square feet. After dinner and drinks, treat your guests to the performance scheduled for that night.
Meanwhile, the Meadow Pavilion is the most intimate of venues at Wolf Trap. The charming wooden pavilion and cement patio measuring at 3,125 square feet will be a perfect space for a party of around 70 guests.

Every year, the Filene Center’s open-air stage is transformed into a grand ballroom and hosts famous people from around the world to fundraise and preserve Wolf Trap as a national treasure now and for future generations.

Whether the flowers are for a birthday, an anniversary or a wedding, we are honored that you came to us so we can make that day memorable for you. We’ve had several customers who have come to our store because they were going on a first date and needed help picking flowers. It’s great to follow them through their relationship and help them with flowers for the next date, then when they meet the parents, Valentine’s Day and a wedding! We are happy for you and hope that we helped in some way.
These interactions with our customers inspired us to make a video capturing those beautiful moments. The staff in the video really is our staff of dedicated designers and drivers that work every day to ensure that you get the best delivered to you.
There was a week of preparation before we shot the video. In that time, we had to find the talent and we reached out to friends of our staff members and our wonderful customers.
We asked one of our brides if we could film her wedding. She graciously said yes and it was a beautiful ceremony. Our store intern found a last-minute “prom date” and our dispatcher’s friend had just had a baby and let us film for the “New Baby” scene and a long time customer and friend was able to gather her granddaughters for an early birthday celebration! It was a great experience and our way of showing why we take so much pride in our work. Our store got involved two years ago when Kevin Reynolds and Bill Knight came to our store and asked our President, Maris Angolia, to be on the board. After one board meeting Maris said, “I was hooked.” Maris chaired the Merchant Incentive Program and Karin’s Florist became a Proud Host and was able to provide floral arrangements for many of the events. These events included the Opening Ceremonies at RFK Stadium, The National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service, The National Law Enforcement Candlelight Vigil and the Closing Ceremonies at Wolf Trap.
Captain Jerome Williams from the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department & Lieutenant Bruce Blechl, from the Fairfax County Police Department spearheaded the effort to help bring the Games to Fairfax County.
The events were jam-packed with excitement. These athletes came to represent their countries and win. They included classic, Olympic-style events like Track & Field and other events unique to the World Police & Fire Games. The Stair Race and the Police Service Dogs events were definitely some crowd favorites. Yet in the midst of competition, there was a sense of comradery among the athletes. People from all over the world were interacting with each other and the atmosphere was incredible. They were all united. One officer put it best by saying they were all part of the public safety family. They are our everyday heroes and we were glad that we were able to bring a little fun to their lives as a way to say thank you for what they do for us.
We did lose a hero during the games. Police Investigator Carlos Silva died after a crash during a cycling tournament. Two other athletes were injured during the crash. A vigil was held in his honor at Reston Town Center. His fellow athletes came to show their support for him and his family. The support was tremendous, they had lost a brother. Athletes brought flags from their departments as a sign of respect for Officer Carlos Silva. Our hearts go out to this fallen hero and to his family.
The Closing Ceremonies were held at Wolf Trap. It was the perfect way to end such an extraordinary event. The athletes were there wearing their country’s shirts with pride. It was bittersweet, the Games were ending but they were going home.
After the speeches were done, the 80’s cover band The Leg Warmers preformed. And the biggest rock star of the night was Fire Chief Richie Bowers! He matched the energy of the band and hyped up the crowd. He was throwing guitar picks into the crowd, giving away t-shirts and air guitaring next to the band! The crowd loved it! It was an absolute thrill to watch.
We also got to witness the torch for the 2017 Montreal Games being lit on stage with the Fairfax County Flame. It was a magical moment; it was great to know that such a positive event would be happening soon. The torch left Wolf Trap and will be taken to Montreal on bike. That blew the crowd away!
We wish our friends in Montreal good luck as they begin planning for the 2017 World Police & Fire Games and hope they are as thrilled and honored to be a part of it as we were. Thank you to all the heroes from around the world and to the volunteers and local businesses that helped make this event the success that it was.
